The long anticipated 8th OAAN Exhibitions & Poster Awards was held in glitz, pomp & pageantry at the prestigious Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island on Thursday May 15, 2014.

The activities commenced with a “Stakeholders’ Breakfast Meeting” at 9am, followed with an Exhibition from 11 am. Blue Carpet Reception started at 5 pm. This culminated to the Awards/Dinner event at 7 pm.


The Event was impressively well-attended by dignitaries spanning the government, various sectors of the economy and marketing communications industry. Senator Enyinnaya Harcourt Abaribe was the Chairman of the occasion. Most cheering was the presence of two international associates of OAAN; the Secretary General of FEPE (the world Outdoor Advertising body) Mr. Mark Flys from the UK, who represented the President and Amal Siewertsen of Rotapanel the Netherlands.   



It would be recalled that the publicity calling for Creative Entries into the Awards adorned major billboards in the Lagos metropolis as well as in various States across Nigeria. The Radio publicity was not left out as jingle spots ran on Inspiration FM, Classic FM, Naija FM, Beat FM in Lagos & Ibadan. These were strongly supported with Personality Feature of Top OAAN representatives on Programmes like ‘Soni Irabor Live’ and ‘Classic Lounge’. 



Entries were mapped out for 8 Categories.  But only 8 Categories were identified by the Panel of Judges from the entries submitted and these were keenly contested for. These categories were:


-Non-Alcoholic Drinks

-Alcoholic Drinks


-Public Service



-Financial Services

 In all, a total of 79 entries were recorded and the Judges had two intense sittings to identify and select Nominees.

After an all-night deciding task at the third sitting, the judges came up with the following winners in the various categories:

•Dairy Products. - Loya Milk Creative

•Household Products - Mouka Foam Creative

•Alcoholic Drinks - Star Shine On Creative

•Non-Alcoholic Drinks - Fanta Creative

•ICT/Telecoms- Swift Networks Evolution of Speed Creative

•Financial Services Fidelity Bank One Card creative

•Electrical / Electronics. - LG LED TV creative

•Public services - No winner

There were also some Special Awards given at the event. These were:

Grand Poster which went to Star Shine On creative

Special Recognition Award I went to Nigeria Breweries PLC and

Special Recognition Award II was given to OAAN’s international Partner - Rotapanel of The Netherlands.

The winners were on hand to receive their aesthetic plaques at the ovation of the guests.

The 8th OAAN Exhibition & Poster Awards event is the most current news in town now. Plans are underway to make the Awards an annual outing, henceforth, going by the remarks of the Chairman of the Organizing Committee- Mr. ‘Kole Ademulegun. This was also corroborated by the OAAN President, Mr. Charles Chijide.
