If the 2014 Poster Awards outing was successful (and it was considered highly so by those who attended), the 2015 edition is intended to be a significant improvement of the previous years’ experience. On that basis, plans are on the way to host the 2015 edition on June 25 at the prestigious Federal Palace Hotels and Casino Victoria Island, Lagos.
In a statement signed by the Chairman of the Planning Committee Mr. Kole Ademulegun who is the immediate Past President of the Association, the lined-up of activities that would precede this year’s event include a Press Conference to intimate the Media of laid-out plans that would boost awareness of the outing; Courtesy Visits by members of the Planning Committee along with OAAN Leadership to their corporate allies and supporters; A Stakeholders’ Breakfast Meeting/Interactive Forum a day prior to the event and a coordinated Exhibition of OOH Suppliers/Partners. The Blue Carpet Reception will start at 5pm to be followed by a Cocktail leading to the event proper.
Mr. Ademulegun is optimistic that this year’s Poster Awards edition would be highly competitive as is evident in the exciting creative prowess observed on billboards displayed in various cities across the nation in 2014. He therefore called on Advertising/Creative Agencies to show up and reap their Creative Rewards by making their entries before May 25, 2015.
The Panel of Judges he stressed will as usual be drawn from among the sub-sectors that are relevant to the practice of Advertising in the country including APCON, AAAN, ADVAN, OAAN, MIPAN, the Academia, Brand Journalism Desk and the Consumer Protection Council. The Chairman of the Panel of Judges would be nominated by the members making up the panel. And they are expected to bring more credence to the Award.
This optimism is corroborated by the Association’s President, Mr. Charles Chijide who has expressed his confidence in the 14 man organizing Committee which he is convinced is working assiduously to ensure a grand outing in 2015. And with the collaboration of Marketing Edge Nigeria Limited as Event Marketers, he believes the event would get impressive sponsorship backing. This he said would facilitate the building of a sustainable growth of the OAAN brand beyond the Awards.
